Information We Collect

Depending on how you use the Service, we may collect the following information:

Anonymous User Identifier

We use Firebase Authentication to create an anonymous identifier for your device. No registration or email address is required.

AI Requests

When you use the AI excuse generator, the text you submit is securely sent to our backend in order to generate a response.

Votes

If you vote 👍 or 👎 on an excuse, your vote is stored anonymously to calculate community approval percentages.

Technical Information

We may collect technical information such as:

• Device model
• Operating system version
• Application version
• Anonymous identifiers
• IP address (when required for service operation)

Crash Reports

If the application crashes, technical diagnostic information may be collected through Firebase Crashlytics. Crash reporting is enabled only for production releases.

Analytics

We use Mixpanel to collect anonymous usage statistics that help us understand how users interact with the application and improve the Service.

Subscription Information

If you purchase a Premium subscription, RevenueCat processes subscription status and purchase information.

Payments are processed exclusively by Google Play or the Apple App Store. We never receive or store your payment card information.

AI Processing

ExcuseMe uses artificial intelligence to generate excuses.

When you submit a request:

• Your prompt is securely transmitted to Firebase Cloud Functions.
• Our backend securely forwards the request to OpenAI to generate the requested response.
• OpenAI API keys are never stored inside the mobile application.
• Your prompts are processed solely for generating the requested response.

Third-Party Services

The Service relies on trusted third-party providers, including:

• Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Functions, Realtime Database, Crashlytics)
• OpenAI (AI-generated responses)
• Mixpanel (anonymous analytics)
• RevenueCat (subscription management)
• Google Play Billing / Apple In-App Purchase (payment processing)

These providers process data solely to provide the functionality of the Service.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information.
